We are delighted to share that Millboard has won an Ideal Home Award 2026 for our Enhanced Grain decking range – winner of the garden landscaping category. It marks the second consecutive year that our products have been recognised by one of the UK’s most trusted home and garden titles, following last year’s win for the Modello collection.

The Ideal Home Awards recognise the best in home design, innovation and interiors. Spanning more than 100 categories, the awards are judged by a panel of Ideal Home editors alongside guest industry experts, making this recognition a meaningful endorsement of our Enhanced Grain decking range.

Why enhanced grain stood out at the Ideal Home awards 2026

The Ideal Home judging panel highlighted the realism and low-maintenance appeal of the range. As the Ideal Home team noted, the boards are hand-moulded from real pieces of oak, so they look authentically like timber while needing far less upkeep, requiring only the occasional clean with soapy water.

That combination of authentic appearance and practicality is central to the Enhanced Grain decking design. The boards are hand-moulded from carefully selected oak masters, capturing subtle grain, gentle knots and the natural variation you would expect from a high-quality timber floor, rather than the uniform look of many composite alternatives.

Engineered for everyday living

Behind the realism is a very different construction. Millboard decking is a wood-free resin mineral composite, finished with a durable, textured Lastane surface and an integrated UV-stable coating. It is engineered so it will not rot, splinter or warp in the way traditional timber can, and it is far less vulnerable to the staining and surface wear that can quickly date an outdoor space.

The Lastane top layer also delivers strong slip resistance, even when wet, making it a reassuring choice for families and anyone using the space year-round, particularly around steps, planters and water features.
